BTLN UPDATE - DOUBLE POINT NIGHT

Congrats Neighbour! This was Isaac's third Bulldog of the Btln Season! Isaac's first Helmet ever was on Double Point Night last year!

This was the third year that we have had Double Point Night on a Wednesday night. It is a nice change to listen to the guys quoting scripture instead of a Bible study. It is so good to have all the guys in the room listening as the guys quote Scripture. I am so proud of everyone that said a passage! Good work guys!

Luke Martens - Romans 8:28-39
Alex St. Onge - Philippians 2:5-11
Dylan Warwaruk - 1 Corinthians 13:1-13
Isaac Holitzki - 1 Corinthians 13:1-13
Dolan Weltz - 1 Corinthians 13:1-13
Josh Martens - 1 Corinthians 13:1-13
Cam Walt - 1 Corinthians 13:1-13

This week we played Murderball for only the third time since Christmas! We only played three games of Murderball because I wanted to leave enough time for Double Point Night. My Team lost the two games before winning the third, losing 1-2. Whoever wins last wins best, right?

In the squad meetings we looked at some passages that described the Word of God.

Psalm 119:89   Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.

2 Timothy 3:16-17   All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Hebrews 4:12   For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Psalm 12:6   And the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times.

Psalm 119:9-11   How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

Psalm 119:130   The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.

God's Word is eternal, alive, active, flawless and useful for teaching, rebuking and training in righteousness. God's Word can also keep us from sinning and gives us wisdom! This is why memorizing Scripture is so important!
