BTLN UPDATE

Congrats Kaylon! This was Kaylon's first Helmet of the Btln Season! Jakob was there at the end with Kaylon, but the group was not going to let Jakob win his third Helmet before Kaylon had won his first Helmet! I love how hard the guys compete, but are still happy for each other at the end of the night!

Last week Noah had me sign a contract that we would play Murderball this week if John Van came out for the second week in a row. We were blessed with John's presence, so that meant that we would be playing Murderball for the second time in three weeks! Dan's Team easily beat Devin's team the first two games, so Dan's team decided that they would not rush the middle at the beginning of the game, thinking that they would win anyways. Not rushing the middle was a bad decision, Devin's team easily winning the third game. The final game went the same as the first two, Dan's team taking the win! Dan's team winning 3-1!

For the first time ever we had the squad meetings written on a baseball lineup card! Yeah, you guessed it, Noah was leading the Bible study this week! Noah's topic was "Paul's summary of the Gospel, and how it applies."

1 Corinthians 15:1-5   Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.

Noah pointed out that, Paul was highlighting the Gospel. Paul wanted us to pay special attention to what he was about to say. Paul summarizes the Gospel, he tells us that, Jesus died for our sins, that he was buried and that he was raised back to life on the third day!

Romans 8:33-34   Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

Because of what Jesus did for us, we cannot be condemned! Now Jesus is in Heaven with God the Father, interceding for us!
