BTLN UPDATE

Congrats Dolan! This was Dolan's very first Helmet! I never get tired of watching a first timer win the Helmet! Dane was there at the end with Dolan and has close been close to winning a lot lately. Dane is overdue for his second win of the year.

This week we had Tyson S. and Uzzie C. visiting from out of town. It was so good to see both of them. Both are missed at Btln!

Our game of the week was a surprise Mike Night! It is always fun to see the guys reaction when they notice the strobe light hanging from the ceiling! There were a few Mike Night rookies, which makes Mike even more exciting! Nathan's Team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, beating the second place team by 16 points!

MIKE NIGHT Final Scores
Nathan's Team - 105
Cam's Team - 89
Noah's Team - 82
Coady's Team - 81

The Bible study topic this week was "The Power of God".

Colossians 1:15-17   The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Hebrews 1:3-4   The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.

Jesus created everything. Could there be a greater demonstration of his power? Not only did Jesus create everything, he also sustains his creation!

Romans 1:16   For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

1 Corinthians 1:18   For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 6:14   By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.

After his creation (men) rejected him, Jesus needed to die for our sins. But Jesus didn't stay dead! Jesus was raised from the dead by the power of God, so that we could also live again! This new life is available to everyone who believes!

Colossians 1:9-12   For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.

Finally, God strengthens us with his power so that we can live a life worthy of Jesus' sacrifice!
